In 1895 Daniel Swarovski, formerly Daniel Swartz, founded the Swarovski crystal company in Austria. They have been producing luxury cut lead glass ever since. And I can’t get enough of them.
The name may conjure figurines or even chandeliers, but for me, it’s about the beads. There is something so pure about the color and clarity of the crystals I use to enhance some of my pieces. The first piece I ever made was a bracelet made entirely of Swarovski crystals.
My affinity for the beautiful glass beads was shared by some pretty awesome people you may have heard of: Designers Chanel, Balenciaga and Christian Dior. In early Hollywood, celebrities like Josephine Baker, Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn fell in love with them as well.
